ITINERARY
Start: 4.00 a.m. / End: 10.00 p.m.
The one-day excursion to Machu Picchu begins early in the morning with a bus ride from Cusco to Ollantaytambo, a picturesque Andean town where you board the train to Aguas Calientes. This train journey, which passes through spectacular landscapes, takes you to the base of the mountain where Machu Picchu is located. Upon arrival, you will meet your guide and take a 25-minute bus ride up to the majestic Inca citadel. During the approximately 2-hour and 30-minute guided tour, you will explore key points such as the Temple of the Sun, the Sacred Plaza, the Sacred Rock, a monolith of ceremonial importance, and the impressive Terrace of the Water Mirrors. You’ll also visit the Royal Residence and the Temple of the Three Windows, each revealing the architectural and spiritual knowledge of this ancient civilization. After the visit, you will return to Aguas Calientes for lunch before taking the train back to Ollantaytambo and continuing by bus to Cusco, completing a day filled with history, culture, and unforgettable landscapes.
