This 5-day, 4-night tour package will take you on a complete experience of Cusco and its surroundings, combining history, culture and stunning landscapes. You will start with a City Tour in Cusco, exploring its impressive monuments such as the Cathedral and the Temple of Qorikancha. Then, you will travel through the majestic Sacred Valley of the Incas, visiting the ancient villages of Pisac and Ollantaytambo. The adventure continues with the impressive citadel of Machu Picchu, where you will immerse yourself in the grandeur of Inca culture. In addition, you will explore the fascinating circular terraces of Moray and the salt mines of Maras, two of the most unique wonders of the Sacred Valley.
This itinerary is designed to offer you a deep immersion in the cultural and natural treasures of Cusco.
DAY BY DAY ITINERARY
DAY 01: CITY TOUR AND 4 RUINS EXCURSION
Reception at the airport, transfer to the chosen hotel and accommodation.
Start: 12.45 p.m. / End: 06.00 p.m.
The Cusco City Tour includes visits to the main historical and archaeological sites near the city, beginning with the Temple of Qorikancha, then continuing to the Sacsayhuamán fortress, the Qenqo ceremonial site, the Puca Pucara military checkpoint, and ending at Tambomachay, known as the Inca Baths. This tour offers a comprehensive overview of Cusco’s rich cultural heritage.
DAY 02: SACRED VALLEY OF THE INCAS EXCURSION
Breakfast at the hotel.
Start: 07.30 a.m. / End: 06.30 p.m.
This excursion offers a visit to the main attractions of the Sacred Valley of the Incas. It includes the exploration of the agricultural terraces of Pisac and the local artisan market. Then, we will enjoy a buffet lunch in the town of Urubamba. Later, we will visit the town and fortress of Ollantaytambo.
Finally, we will take the train to Machu Picchu Pueblo (Aguas Calientes) from the Ollantaytambo train station. This excursion allows you to appreciate the history, culture and impressive landscapes of the Sacred Valley.
In Aguas Calientes, reception at the train station, transfer to the hotel and accommodation.
DAY 03: MACHU PICCHU EXCURSION
Start: 07.00 a.m. / End: 10.00 p.m.
After breakfast at the hotel, we will take the bus that will take us to the entrance of the citadel of Machu Picchu, where we will enjoy the guided tour according to the chosen tour circuit. We will have a short time to take pictures before returning by bus to Aguas Calientes. Finally, we will take the train back to Ollantaytambo, followed by the bus transfer to the hotel in Cusco.
The return time to Cusco is subject to train availability.
DAY 04: MARAS AND MORAY EXCURSION
Breakfast at the hotel.
Start: 08.00 a.m. / End: 02.30 p.m.
The guided tour to the Maras Salt Mines and the Moray Circular Terraces will take us to discover two of the most fascinating sites in the Sacred Valley. We will begin by exploring the impressive Maras salt mines, where hundreds of salt pools have been exploited by hand since pre-Incan times. Then, we will visit Moray, an ancient Incan agricultural experimentation center with circular terraces that reveal the Incas’ advanced knowledge of microclimates and cultivation. This visit offers a unique insight into Incan engineering and agriculture, surrounded by spectacular Andean landscapes.
DAY 05: RETURN
Breakfast at the hotel
At the appropriate time, transfer to the airport or bus terminal for the return trip.
